The “protected” and well-known exhibition spaces are abandoned and the city as a whole is understood as a playing field - a place for projects, artistic interventions and urban new media arts. Discoursive city walks with experts in science, arts and everyday life” explores the venues and locations of the festival, as well as its surroundings with “walking as a method”.

Katharina Miko
Katharina Miko is a sociologist, working as an assistant on the Vienna University of Economy in the field of qualitative methodology and is a lecturer at the Institute of Sociology at the Vienna University. Her fields of research are genealogy, gender research as well as urban research/ safety research. Currently she works as project leader in an ethnographic project in the research office “querraum. kultur- und sozialforschung”. The project deals with the diverse definitions of “security” and “safety” of different population groups in public space.
