Christian Falsnaes, born 1980 in Copenhagen studied at the Academy of Fine Art Vienna. He lives and works in Vienna.

Christian Falsnaes presents the performance Beyond the parental watch is danger to the infant. Beyond the threshold is darkness. Beyond the security of socal affirmation is the adventure of art. In his works – performances, installations and paintings – Christian Falsnaes scrutinizes our relationship and our behaviour in relation to and within public space. In the process, he uses different formal languages that range from Graffiti and Hip Hop to video games and Karaoke, up to Action Painting. His performances often have the structure of a show and provoke an active participation from the audience.
"I am interested in the individual and the way he/she experiences reality. The way norms, roles and patterns are constituted through common language and iconography and the way individual people reproduce them. In my works, rationality, justification, knowledge and belief are intertwined with desire, frustration and lack of control. My identity and understanding of the world is put together by a vast amount of available information. The art I do reflect that condition.“
