INTERSECTIONS OF MEDIA, ART, SOCIETY AND TECHNOLOGY.

Bernhard Tobola
Bernhard Tobola
Whoever’s somehow involved in Vienna’s creative scenes knows Bernhard Tobola. Aged 32, he is a significant part of the DJ- and party-collective Tingel Tangel, and organizes various workshops and festivals around the subject of Creative Classes – Fake It, Maispace, The Quiet is... The New Loud. What’s common to all of these activities is that they allow the Vienna native to get involved with miscellaneous scenes in a quite playful but wholehearted way, to try out new technological possibilities, and to network further. So in all his projects between party, art, culture and work, Bernhard Tobola is, apart from glamorous superficialities, concerned with the profound changes in creative environments – communication, process, cooperation and event management.
Mobile Music Workshop / Donaukanal / 22.09
The Tingel Tangel cart (a Piaggio APE van modified with a DJ-console) will be transformed into a musical interface resp. a master clock for sync-able mobile devices. Everything revolves around mobile synthesizer applications that are played on various platforms, as many as possible, fed into the central music equipment and played back via the TT cart’s sound equipment. In the course of the day workshop technology is being simplified and the goal of a “multi-user final concert” is pursued.
