Barbara Kraus lives and works as a performing artist in Vienna, Austria. From 1990 to 1994 she studied at the School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam. Since 1994 she is active in arts, writing, staging, film, music and performance, humorous social interventions, participatory projects, workshops for performance and improvisation, stand-up formats, personal/fictional/social storytelling as well as ressource-oriented body/voice training and mindful meditation. Currently Barbara Kraus works in process support with groups for social change. The question how arts take part in the formation and design of our understanding of “the world” is an integral motivation for her work.

Barbara Kraus lebt und arbeitet als darstellende Künstlerin in Wien. Von 1990 bis 1994 studierte sie an der School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam. Seit 1994 ist sie im freien Fall unterwegs in Sachen Kunst, Text, Inszenierung, Film, Musik und Performance, humorvolle soziale Interventionen, partizipative Projekte, Workshops für Performance/Improvisation, Stand Up Formate und Personal/Fictional/Social Storytelling sowie ressourcenorientierte Körper/Stimmarbeit und Achtsamkeitsmeditation. Zurzeit setzt sich Barbara Kraus intensiv mit der Prozessbegleitung von Gruppen für sozialen Wandel auseinander. Die Frage, inwieweit Kunst Einfluss auf die Gestaltung der Welt nehmen kann und muss, ist eine, die sie wesentlich an- und umtreibt.
